A&WMA to host CPP Air Dispersion Modeling Webinar

Join CPP experts from the convenience of your home or office and stay on the cutting edge of Air Dispersion Modeling.

Air quality standards have become more stringent over the years posing a significant challenge to the regulatory and regulated community. The conservative assumptions in current modeling techniques have aggravated this issue and made compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) a significant challenge. EPA also recently finalized the Guideline on Air Quality Models (Appendix W) which includes new complexities that need to be considered in regulatory dispersion modeling. This webinar will cover the basics of dispersion modeling, the current state of regulatory modeling and tools that can be used to minimize overpredictions in AERMOD.

Interact with CPP’s Dr. Ron L. Petersen, Dr. Sergio A. Guerra and Jeff Reifschneider along with fellow colleagues for this two part series:

Part 1: Basics of Dispersion Modeling
Tuesday, February 21, 2017
1:00 – 2:30 (ET)

The first part of the webinar will cover the regulatory aspects of permit modeling along with an overview of the science, inputs, outputs and limitations of EPA’s preferred model for regulatory purposes (i.e., AERMOD).

Part 2: Advanced Dispersion Modeling
Wednesday, February 22, 2017
1:00 – 2:30 (ET)

The second part of the webinar will cover the current modeling landscape including the new requirements from the updated Guideline on Air Quality Models (Appendix W). Case studies will be presented to showcase available tools that can be used to overcome AERMOD’s limitations. Emphasis will be given to methods that have been used and accepted by regulatory agencies.
