CPP’s John Carter and Brad Cochran will be attending the 2018 ASHRAE Winter Conference and AHR Expo taking place in Chicago January 20-24. Additionally, John Carter will chair a session.
Doing business as ASHRAE, the organization is based on the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
The ASHRAE Winter Conference and AHR Expo will bring together thousands of exhibitors and industry professionals to discuss building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration, and sustainability. The Winter Conference will be at the Palmer House, January 20-24, and the AHR Expo will be at McCormick Place, January 22-24.
As for CPP’s involvement, in addition to attendance by Brad Cochran, John Carter will chair a session: Seminar 11 – Next-Generation Tall Buildings HVAC Design. Chicago has a strong heritage of tall buildings, including the turn-of-the-century Home Insurance Building, John Hancock Center, and Willis Tower. What are the HVAC designers of Chicago’s tall buildings up to today? This session introduces next-generation tall-building design, from new weather files, new environment containment files, low-energy tall buildings, and healthy tall buildings, to new stack-effect studies, modular building, and more. Three Chicago firms, including three HVAC designers of the twenty tallest buildings in the world by 2020, will discuss what they see on the tall-building horizon.
