CPP is pleased to welcome Dr. John Holmes as a Senior Consultant. Dr. Holmes brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team in Australia, and we are excited and honored that he has chosen to join CPP.
Dr. Holmes has a long and distinguished career in wind engineering, having been involved in research, testing, and consulting since 1969. He was instrumental in the development of Australian Standards AS1170.2 and AS/NZS1170.2 (Wind loads) and AS3995 (Design of steel lattice towers and masts), and he is the author of Wind Loading of Structures, an authoritative book, currently in its third edition.
John was the founding Chair of the Australasian Wind Engineering Society (AWES) from 1984 to 1987 and remains a life member of the same professional organization. He is also a Fellow and Chartered Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. Dr. Holmes currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at James Cook University, Townsville, Queensland, was Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Wind and Structures for ten years.
