CPP Wind > Who We Are > Our Experts > Dr. Workamaw Warsido

Dr. Workamaw Warsido has extensive experience in wind tunnel testing and dynamic response analysis across a wide range of structures. Since joining CPP in 2013, he has contributed to an impressive portfolio of wind engineering studies involving tall buildings, sports stadiums, entertainment venues, aerospace structures, space launch vehicles, and unique structures such as sculptures and telescopes.

Workamaw’s primary focus is on the analysis of wind-induced loads and structural responses, as well as the assessment of design pressures on components and cladding. In addition to project engagements, he actively contributes to research and development initiatives, mentors colleagues, and leads technical reviews.

Workamaw earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Florida International University and his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. During his postgraduate studies, he conducted both numerical modeling and experimental research aimed at enhancing the resilience of civil infrastructure under extreme wind conditions.

Workamaw is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Association for Wind Engineering (AAWE). He has authored several publications in journals and conference proceedings, reflecting his ongoing commitment to advancing the field of wind engineering.
