About CPP

CPP Wind Engineering is a global engineering consulting firm specializing in understanding and managing the effects of wind and atmospheric flows on structures, infrastructure, renewable energy assets, industrial facilities, and the built environment. We advise developers, owners, engineers, architects, manufacturers, operators, and other organizations on how wind, weather, and air movement affect the safety, performance, comfort, resilience, environmental impact, and economics of their projects and assets.

Our work spans buildings, renewable energy and power infrastructure, weather and climate insights, and air quality and environmental services. CPP combines deep engineering expertise with boundary-layer wind tunnel testing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), advanced numerical modelling, field measurements, monitoring, data analysis, and air-dispersion modelling to solve complex problems throughout the lifecycle of an asset, from concept and design through operation, performance evaluation, and failure investigation. CPP has been providing engineering consulting services to clients worldwide for more than 40 years.

Global Presence:

CPP serves clients around the world through an international team with core offices in Windsor, Colorado; the Greater Toronto Area in Canada; Sydney, Australia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Marseille, France. Our global footprint allows CPP to combine local market knowledge with specialized technical expertise across regions. The Senior Marketing Manager will help connect these teams through a coordinated global marketing approach while ensuring that campaigns and messaging remain relevant to individual sectors, geographies, and client groups.

Role Summary:

CPP is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to drive marketing strategy and execution across CPP’s global business. Reporting directly to the CEO, with a strong dotted-line relationship to the CTO, this role serves as a key strategic partner to the ELT, Sector Leaders, and Regional Stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role for a self-directed marketing professional who can take corporate and sector growth strategies and convert them into clear priorities, tangible marketing actions, campaigns, content, sales tools, events, and measurable market-facing results. The role supports CPP’s full portfolio of services and markets, including Buildings, Energy and power infrastructure, and Air Quality / Environmental services. This role will work closely with key stakeholders to define target audiences, sharpen service positioning, create compelling value propositions, and build coordinated go-to-market programs. The role will lead a lean global marketing team, while also coordinating external agencies and specialist vendors as needed. Through strategic leadership, strong stakeholder engagement, and operational delivery, the Senior Marketing Manager will drive global marketing effectiveness, support revenue growth, and strengthen CPP’s market brand across its key sectors and geographies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Operational / Marketing Execution (approximately 70% of day-to-day activities):

  1. Strategy-to-Execution: Translate CPP’s corporate strategy, annual growth priorities, and sector-specific business plans into practical marketing plans with defined campaigns, deliverables, owners, budgets, timelines, and measurable outcomes. Maintain a disciplined execution cadence and ensure that agreed priorities move from concept to completion.
  2. Sector Marketing & Service Positioning: Partner with sector and technical leaders to develop clear positioning and go-to-market approaches for CPP’s Buildings, Energy / power infrastructure, Air Quality / Environmental, and adjacent service offerings. Help organize technical capabilities into marketable service portfolios and define target clients, buyer profiles, value propositions, proof points, and competitive differentiation.
  3. Global Campaign Development & Execution: Plan and execute integrated campaigns across regions and channels, balancing a consistent CPP brand and corporate message with the needs of specific geographies, sectors, and client segments. Coordinate campaign calendars so global and regional activities reinforce one another rather than compete for attention.
  4. Lead Generation & Sales Enablement: Develop marketing programs that create qualified opportunities and support business development teams throughout the sales cycle. Build account-based and segment-focused campaigns where appropriate, and provide high-quality sales enablement materials including service sheets, case studies, presentations, client stories, email campaigns, proposal content, and other tools that help CPP convert technical expertise into revenue.
  5. Content & Thought Leadership: Build and manage a global content program in partnership with the CTO, sector leaders, and technical experts. Turn CPP’s technical knowledge, project experience, research, and market insights into compelling thought leadership, case studies, articles, webinars, conference presentations, videos, and other client-facing content that strengthens CPP’s market position.
  6. Digital Marketing & Brand Management: Own and continuously improve CPP’s digital marketing presence, including website content, search visibility, email marketing, social media, digital campaigns, and relevant marketing technology. Maintain global brand consistency while improving how CPP communicates complex services to different audiences and markets.
  7. Conferences, Events & Market Presence: Develop and coordinate CPP’s global conference and event strategy, including event selection, sponsorships, exhibits, speaking opportunities, technical-paper support, client outreach, pre-event and post-event campaigns, and ROI tracking. Ensure that event investments are tied to specific sector and account-development objectives.
  8. Global Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead, coach, and prioritize the work of a lean global marketing team of up to two employees located across North America and Australia. Establish clear responsibilities, operating rhythms, development goals, and accountability while coordinating closely with regional and sector stakeholders. Manage external agencies, designers, freelancers, and other specialist resources as needed.
  9. Corporate Communications & Brand Management: Support corporate communications, major company announcements, leadership messaging, public relations, employer-brand initiatives, and other reputation-building activities. Maintain and promote brand standards across marketing and communication activities and ensure external communications accurately reflect CPP’s technical credibility, culture, global reach, and strategic direction.
  10. Marketing Operations, Analytics & Budget: Own marketing planning, budget discipline, campaign tracking, and performance reporting. Establish practical KPIs for awareness, engagement, lead generation, conversion, event effectiveness, and marketing contribution to pipeline. Improve the use of CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and reporting tools to create a measurable link between marketing activity and commercial outcomes.
Strategic / Platform Improvements (approximately 30% of day-to-day activities):
  11. Global Marketing Strategy & Market Insights: Partner with the CEO, CTO, sector leaders, and regional leadership to develop, refine and execute CPP’s global marketing strategy. Use market segmentation, client insight, competitive intelligence, and performance data to recommend priorities, target audiences, geographies, sectors, and channels and to identify where CPP’s marketing resources can create the greatest commercial impact.
  12. Growth Initiatives & Market Activation: Support the marketing and communications requirements associated with new service launches, market expansion initiatives, strategic partnerships, and acquisitions. Develop positioning, communication plans, launch activities, and customer-facing materials that support successful implementation of corporate growth priorities to help ensure that CPP’s external market presence evolves in step with the company’s growth strategy.
  13. Marketing Operations & Capability Development: Continuously improve marketing processes, tools, templates, content libraries, brand standards, agency relationships, and technology systems to support efficient delivery of marketing programs. Identify capability gaps and recommend improvements that enhance marketing effectiveness and scalability.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline. Experience or education in engineering, architecture, environmental science, or another technical field is a plus but not required. Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous but not required.
  2. Marketing Experience: 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally including responsibility for strategy, campaign execution, lead generation, brand management, and sales enablement in a multi-market or multi-region organization.
  3. B2B & B2C Perspective: Strong B2B marketing experience is required; meaningful experience in B2C marketing or other high-engagement customer environments is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate can apply the audience insight, digital discipline, brand thinking, and campaign measurement common in B2C environments to a complex B2B services business.
  4. Services Marketing: Demonstrated success marketing services, consulting, professional services, or other expertise-driven offerings where the value proposition is less tangible than a physical product. Experience in engineering, AEC, infrastructure, energy, environmental consulting, or another technical-services market is highly valued.
  5. Strategy-to-Execution Capability: Proven ability to take broad corporate or business-unit strategies and turn them into prioritized marketing programs, concrete deliverables, clear timelines, and measurable results. Must be comfortable moving between executive-level planning and hands-on execution.
  6. Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to align marketing activities with business growth objectives, revenue generation, market expansion, and client acquisition goals. Able to assess commercial priorities and allocate marketing resources to maximize business impact.
  7. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Highly self-directed, resourceful, and action-oriented; able to create structure where needed, make progress without a large support organization, manage competing priorities, and take personal ownership for results.
  8. Global & Cross-Cultural Effectiveness: Experience working across regions, time zones, and cultures, with the ability to coordinate global priorities while respecting local market differences. Experience leading distributed teams is strongly preferred.
  9. Technical Storytelling & Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to understand complex technical concepts, ask the right questions of subject-matter experts, and translate technical capabilities into compelling and accessible client-facing messages.
  10. Digital, Data & Marketing Systems: Strong working knowledge of digital marketing, website and content management, CRM and marketing automation, campaign analytics, social media, email marketing, search optimization, and performance reporting. Comfortable using data to make prioritization and investment decisions.
  11. Stakeholder Management & Influence: Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence across senior leadership teams, technical subject matter experts, and geographically dispersed stakeholders. Able to gain alignment and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment without relying on formal authority.
  12. Brand Strategy & Market Positioning: Experience developing and strengthening brand positioning, value propositions, market messaging, and go-to-market approaches across multiple service lines, customer segments, or geographic markets.
  13. Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small high-performing team, manage external vendors, influence senior stakeholders without direct authority, and build strong working relationships with technical, commercial, and executive leaders.
  14. Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, currently expected to average approximately 10-20% depending on conferences, team coordination, and business priorities. Due to the global nature of the role, flexibility to participate in meetings outside standard local business hours and work across multiple time zones is required.
